EXPLORING DUBAI AND ABU DHABI: WHY RENTING A CAR IS THE BEST OPTION
Tumblr media
Dubai and Abu Dhabi, two magnificent cities in the United Arab Emirates, captivate visitors with their awe-inspiring architecture, rich cultural heritage, and vibrant modern attractions. When planning a trip to this dynamic region, one important decision to make is how to get around efficiently. While public transportation and taxis are readily available, renting a car provides an unparalleled level of freedom, convenience, and flexibility. Here, we will delve into the reasons why renting a car is the best option for exploring Dubai and Abu Dhabi, allowing you to make the most of your journey.
Embrace Freedom and Flexibility: Renting a car grants you the freedom to create your own itinerary and explore the cities at your own pace. Whether you want to visit iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa or Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, venture into the stunning desert landscapes, or indulge in retail therapy at the world-renowned shopping malls, having a car at your disposal ensures you can effortlessly navigate between destinations and make spontaneous stops along the way.
Convenience and Accessibility: Dubai and Abu Dhabi are sprawling cities with vast distances between attractions. While public transportation exists, it may not always offer direct routes to your desired destinations. Renting a car eliminates the need to rely on fixed schedules and allows you to reach even the most remote attractions with ease. Additionally, having your own vehicle means avoiding long walks in scorching temperatures or waiting for taxis in busy areas, saving you valuable time and energy.
Enhanced Sightseeing Opportunities: Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer a multitude of attractions beyond the city centers. From the enchanting desert dunes to picturesque coastal areas and captivating cultural sites, renting a car enables you to embark on memorable day trips to these stunning locations. Discover the beauty of the Arabian Peninsula at your own leisure, capturing breathtaking views and immersing yourself in the local culture along the way.
Cost-Effectiveness: Contrary to popular belief, renting a car can be a cost-effective option, especially when traveling in a group or with family. Splitting the rental and fuel costs among fellow travelers often proves more economical than relying on alternative modes of transportation. Additionally, having a car allows you to conveniently explore different areas within a day, making the most out of your time and maximizing the value of your trip.
Seamless Travel Experience: Renting a car in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is a straightforward process, with numerous reputable car rental companies available. You can easily book a car online in advance or visit one of the many rental offices conveniently located throughout the cities.
Moreover, road infrastructure in the UAE is highly developed, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free driving experience. Signs are predominantly in English, making navigation simple and convenient for international visitors.
When embarking on a journey to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, renting a car emerges as the optimal choice for an unforgettable exploration experience. From the freedom and flexibility it offers to the convenience of reaching even the most remote locations, renting a car enhances your ability to fully immerse yourself in the wonders of these remarkable cities. With its cost-effectiveness and seamless rental process, choosing a car rental ensures you make the most of your time and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime. So, buckle up, hit the road, and embark on an extraordinary adventure through the dazzling landscapes and architectural marvels of Dubai and Abu Dhabi!

she's the man * vr dts special
what does netflix have to say about the first and only woman to make it on the grid in almost 2 decades?
warnings: danica patrick jumpscares
notes: hi im procrastinating my assignment that's due tomorrow so i'm making this for you guys <3 and this is so...? poorly written is what i'm trying to say bye
Tumblr media
[will buxton] there is a new team on the grid: andretti's appeal to be the 11th team on the grid was approved early last year. there was a lot of talk about who they could hire in their driver lineup. nobody expected sebastian vettel, who literally just retired from being an f1 driver, to be stepping into the shoes of a race engineer. and to take a chance on a rookie driver...
what did you want me to say? she looks down at the clapperboard that's been handed over to her, lifting it up and down as she tries to ease her nervousness. [producer] introduce yourself first and we'll take it step by step from here. she nods and presses her lips together with a smile. hi. i'm driving for andretti racing for the 2023 season and i am the first female on the grid in almost 20 years.
[sebastian vettel] i... you know, i realised i have nothing to do if i don't race. so i took up the job with one exception – they allow a rookie into the team.
-> bahrain, 2023
she smiles, tapping her card onto the reader. she just waves at the crew ahead of her, cameras held up and lenses pointed directly at her as she walks alongside logan and oscar.
i'm a little nervous, of course – i didn't think i'd get this far. in all honestly, i thought f2 was the furthest i'd get when it came to racing. but i'm lucky. sebastian is taking a big gamble putting me in an f1 car this year.
[danica patrick] a woman in f1? i don't expect that will go well overall. does she even have the aggressiveness to be driving alongside these men who, for them, things like these come naturally.
-> abu dhabi, 2022
"well, would you look at that? the sole woman on the grid has made it to the podium. and that would," there's a pause from crofty, taking a deep breath as a smile spreads his lips, "award her as a runner-up in the drivers' championship slightly ahead of liam lawson. she's driven amazing all year round and it's just a wonder if she will ever make it further than formula 2 if she can produce these results at this level of racing."
[susie wolff] she's amazing behind the wheel. toto and i have watched a couple of her races over the years. it's an experience to have her around every weekend beside big household names like lewis hamilton and max verstappen. if her team can give her a good enough car to produce massive results, or she outperforms everyone's expectations this year, it could be very telling for the sport. and it sure opens a lot of opportunities for new generations of racers to come.
[sebastian vettel] well, she produces the results you'd want in a race car driver. i'd like to change the course of things around here, so there was no question that i'd vouch for her to get in a car with the best of the best. she's been in an f1 car before – with haas a while ago – so there's really not much worry about how she'll do this year. she just needs a good car to start.
[claire williams] nothing wrong with taking a chance on a rookie. but as a new team in the sport, you'd want to prove to everyone that you fought rightfully so for your spot as a new addition to the pitlane.
-> bahrain, 2023
she stands at the back of the garage. the camera zooms into the girl toying with the neckline of her fireproofs. she presses her lips together as sebastian talks to her. "so you're starting p18 tomorrow."
"oh." she looks down at the ground and purses her lips together. "well i told you: the car still felt a little difficult in the braking zones earlier. that was the best i could do without burying myself into a barrier."
"yeah, of course. that just means you'll have to work a little extra tomorrow during the race," sebastian grins. he places his hand on her shoulder to shake her gently. "you did your best today. don't even worry about it. you'll come back stronger tomorrow."
"of course. i didn't get this far just to fumble the bag at my first race."
[danica patrick] qualifying p18 as a rookie and as the sole woman in the sport... it's not a good look for either herself or the people who decided to take a chance on her.
"and that's the checkered flag. p11," sebastian says into her ears.
she sighs as she slows the car down for a cool-down lap. she lets out an exasperated sigh, shaking her head. "i could have pushed a little more to get better results. i'm sorry."
"ah, you finished ahead of a lot of people and you climbed 7 places on the track. it's a good first race."
[will buxton] right now, it seems that not everyone is fond of having a woman on the grid. that's very prominent in the fan side of things. but a lot of people are forgetting that she raced with some of the big names that people know today and was on par with them in the results growing up.
[oscar piastri] well, we go way back. you know, growing up karting together and constantly being in competition with one another, i think really encouraged her to stay in the sport. when we moved up to f3 from formula renault, she kinda got left behind to stay. so when i was poached by prema to race into f2, i suggested that they give her a chance.
well, i was up there fighting with oscar and logan, and occasionally liam, for good results during karting races and eventually in formula renault. the only disadvantage i had compared to them was that i'm a girl. you know, growing up, i would constantly be told that i wouldn't get very far cause this is a boy's sport. that really does discourage you from wanting and thinking that i'd get into official leagues, but i owe it to my best friends for pushing me to dream bigger and retain the passion i had for racing.
[logan sargeant] i mean... she kinda did hand me my ass every single time we were out on the track. if that doesn't tell people that she's a good racer, i'm unsure what will.
[zak brown] it was, truthfully, down to her and oscar for who should come in and drive for mclaren. but we weren't sure if the risks to bring her in would be worth it. so we went with the safer option.
[james vowles] i know a couple different teams – i'm definitely not namedropping – who were eyeing her for her performance last year. prema did a very good job marketing her as their driver as well so there's an extra factor. she's lovely.
-> australia, 2023
"oh, andretti's rookie passes the flag ahead of the alpha tauri and puts her in the points!" there's cheering in the grandstands, and nobody can believe their eyes at the results of the purple race car. "you see it here first – she is the first woman, in decades, to score points to formula 1"
"that's p9! there's your first points in formula 1!"
"oh? oh my fucking god! i did it!"
scoring your first points as a formula 1 driver... it's a very big feat as a rookie. but it means even more when you're in my position.
she runs to where sebastian stands, helmet in her hands. she screams as her team erupts in cheers at the sight of her sprinting towards them and she pumps her fists into the air.
"i did it!" she screams, immediately surrounded by the personnel clad in the bright andretti purple. "i scored my first points!"
she's seen in the middle of their makeshift circle, thrown around by her team as they bask in their first achievement in the sport and of the year. she's seen with tears running down her cheeks briefly before sebastian pulls her in for a very tight hug.
"i told you everything will be fine. you just had to be patient, kid."
[sebastian vettel] scoring points alone is already a step in the right direction. now we just need to focus on being consistent race after race.
-> azerbaijan, 2023
"there's a yellow flag here in lap 40. we're waiting to hear who it was caused by," the camera pans to the car head first into the barriers at a turn, "and it seems to be an andretti."
when you crash front first out of a turn, it's like the rudest jumpscare a person could have. it's nothing to do with the car – it was straight up a driver error.
[sebastian vettel] no driver wants to crash their car during a race and then admit to the whole world that it was their fault. especially when you're in her position, you know? the statement she released and choosing to be honest about it being a driver error – it was her decision to handle it that way. personally... he giggles with a smile. i wouldn't have done that.
[will buxton] she only seems to be getting better and better every single weekend.
-> monaco, 2023
"that's another finish in the points, kid. good race. that's p5 for you."
"thank you. the car felt great this weekend."
-> singapore, 2023
"here we have the andretti rookie in her engineer and mentor's arms, on a very historical evening. she has just scored her first podium this weekend at the singapore grand prix."
she jumps as she's in sebastian's arms, her face buried in his chest. she is seen pulling away slightly from him and he grabs her face, "amazing– you were amazing, kid! congratulations!"
tears, again, roll down her cheeks as she nods at his statement. her chest heaves as she cries. "thank you. oh, my goodness. thank you."
"there's no words. just that you were amazing this weekend."
a hand lands on her back. she turns around and covers her face as she fights the biggest grin. "you beat me in f1, mate!"
the australian accent fills her ears as he congratulates her. oscar takes her into his arms, resting his chin on her shoulder as they lock themselves in a tight embrace. he rubs circles on her back. "congrats on the podium, mate."
[danica patrick] now they're in a weird spot. oscar, on one hand, has been backed by mark webber for years. his best friend is racing under sebastian vettel. everybody knows those two don't get along – is it possible that it could reflect on their friendship as well?
-> silverstone, 2023
"overtake available." her andretti, slowly inches towards the mclaren of oscar's up ahead. "whenever you see fit."
"what's the gap?" oscar huffs, head snapping over to his side mirror briefly.
"0.2."
at the next turn, she takes a big lunge on the inside of the track to go ahead of oscar.
"there's a bit of fighting at the midfield here between a mclaren and an andretti. oscar piastri, however, does not let her go. he is still fighting to hopefully finish ahead of her in today's race."
"keep the pace. try to shake oscar off, he's still close behind you."
"noted."
racing on the track with oscar? nothing i haven't done before.
[oscar piastri] she's always been great at keeping up and being a challenging competitor on the track.
[logan sargeant] she's very fast on and off the track. i rarely beat her in racing... so...
"oscar piastri takes the checkered flag behind the andretti, failing to fight with the incredible pace the new car has shown this weekend."
in parc ferme, the girl takes her helmet off, turning around sharply to the man in papaya orange as he lifts himself out of the car. "good fight, mate."
"good fight," oscar smiles. they share a quick hug before the younger girl briefly runs away from him to approach logan further down the lane.
[danica patrick] we've seen what the sport does to friends. it does not matter how long you've been friends – it will eventually catch up to you and everybody involved.
-> austin, 2023
"the andretti finished in p5 and logan sargeant has just been promoted to p10 following the disqualification of charles leclerc and lewis hamilton. oscar, however, retires from the race following a crash with esteban ocon."
i don't beat oscar often – so whenever the rarity comes up, i take it with open arms.
"ah, screw you mate," oscar laughs, throwing his arms around the younger girl once again. "good finish."
she flips her hair as she pulls away and bats her eyelashes. "what can i say? i'm made for formula 1."
[sebastian vettel] they're sweet kids. i don't think there is any animosity between them. they lived together while they karted weekend after weekend. they're used to it... i think.
we've fought about things like these growing up. oh, for sure. we're both the oldest siblings – so the competition never ends between us.
[oscar piastri] she is very competitive. she's only fair when it comes to racing on the track though. everything else, she finds a way to come out on top.
-> oxford, 2023 (winter break)
"i won."
logan turns to look at her, eyebrows furrowed. "no, you didn't."
now stood up, the girl looked down at logan with a mirrored bewildered expression on her face. "yes, i did."
"no," logan repeats with his eyebrows raised, "you did not."
she clenches her jaw. "yes, i did."
"dude." logan turns to look at oscar, sitting across the table from them. their gazes all land on the card that she puts in the middle. "that's a yellow card that you coloured over with red marker. you lost – just admit it."
"what do you mean? that's a legit card." she lifts it up and reveals to the camera a card that's been poorly coloured red with some scratches that reveal the authenticity of the yellow that logan had just pointed out.
[logan sargeant] she's such a sore loser.
-> abu dhabi, 2023
"that's the andretti of the rookie driver crossing the finish line in p4, and that puts her in 6th place in the driver's championship. we might just be at the start of history being made, folks."
[sebastian vettel] what can i say? i'm never wrong with who i place my bets on.
[danica patrick] she proved a lot of people wrong this year, including me. she is an exciting up and coming driver.
she shrugs with a smug grin on her face. oh, i'm here to stay, babes.
andretti has secured her with a multi-year contract with the team – she will be racing under them until 2028.
the clapperboard clicks loudly, a man sits there with a cheeky grin as he stares into the camera. i'm liam lawson and i'm now an andretti race car driver. see you on the track in 2024.
– bonus
"aw, mate! they totally twisted that whole scene up!" she scoffs, throwing a small pillow at the tv screen. "dalton was the one that coloured that uno card in. not me!"
oscar turns to her. "yet you still used it despite the fact that we agreed to not use it in games anymore."
"the game would not have been fair if we were missing one card!"
logan scoffs. "we let you win, anyway."

and the fact that both charles and max got disqualified because of the inchident 😭😭😭charles has always been bringing trouble to max while he tries to stay out of trouble circa 2012-2020
that man has been gaslighting ever since he could speak because of his babygirlism and pretty face everyone just lets him but he can’t keep getting away with this 😤😤😤
that's the thing! max is very straightforward and honest, it's easy to call him "mad max" because he won't bullshit you ever, he will say how it is.
charles, on the other hand, knows how to play mind games. we're talking about a driver who outscored in his first year at ferrari THE sebastian vettel and ended up 4th in the overall ranking.
he also got recently really good at media and how to work with it to his advantage. people may underestimate him but this guy got everyone under the binotto regime FIRED at ferrari (except for xavi) to the point ferrari had to put fred in the lead to have someone charles can trust to eventually stay. at the end of the day, even carlos (who was hired by binotto) is set to leave.
charles is not playing around, he knows how to manipulate everyone on the track, and outside of it.
just think about charles' attempted overtake on max in abu dhabi, he knew that his car wasn't built to fight equally with max's but he STUDIED max's behaviour to plan an overtake:
"I saw an opportunity. I saw that Max was looking in the mirrors - [corrects himself] well, I was expecting him to look in the mirrors, so I made him think that I was going right and then I went to the left 😈."
like yes, he just has a particular face that makes you believe he's an angel, but that man is scheming like a cartoon villain and im so excited to see what the upcoming seasons unleash in him
plus, a battle between max and charles would be excellent because they grew up together and know each other inside out and can exactly predict what could be the other's next move so they just constantly try to outsmart each other

my first love has always been ice hockey but there is no other sport like f1, because the current state of the teams is:
ferrari: we have a car and it may not be fast but it sure is red and we will hope for another miracle coming from charles and maybe light up a candle for him and fall on our knees around sf-24. oh and carlos is there. for a few more races.
red bull: hopefully max keeps it on track, GP survives another round of couples therapy and checo won't crash in q1 to bring chances of constructor's title and future upgrades from big fat zero to negative
mercedes: let's pray lewis' balls won't get boiled from the hot seat by the time this race weekend is over because he in fact doesn't have his sperm in a cup in a freezer next to roscoe's
mclaren: the universally fastest car capable of beating anyone by 30 seconds, another upgrade package on the way with updated floor on the way, best quali AND race pace, 100% backing of lando, now with oscar's help too + mika stroking the crystal ball trying to predict abu dhabi 2024 winner
stake: budget for tiktok videos so big we couldn't afford another working wheel gun but who needs it when you can get more screentime for your drivers with a 10 seconds long pit from p19 being lapped twice, right?
alpine: maybe if we fire everyone, the sweet lady from canteen will run the team better, and if not, there is always an option to hire an italian mafioso to sell the team and send the angry viry staff his way
williams: breaking news, james vowles is on grindr looking for another underexperienced twink with interesting sponsorship to wine and dine and then slip into the seat to fill in the gap he created himself by firing the previous prospect
vcarb: junior team for energy drink company that gets left over from said mothership and is meant to bring in new talents but rather serves as a speaking platform for weird australian bisexual, also their floor will fail massively and yuki never gets to finish monza properly under them
haas: dad for dad, 2 blondies enjoying quality time together, workplace relationship, sneaking out behind motorhomes, oral fixation, money heist, russian mafia
aston martin: rule number one, if money didn't fix the team, you didn't use enough money

DRIVE TO SURVIVE S.5 EP. 10
END OF THE ROAD
“So, What are your plans after Abu Dhabi?”
“I have a few things in mind, I’m officially unemployed. What are you gonna do without me?”
“Not much, for now we hired Charlotte as class clown, she’s is pretty funny. The other day she talked a lot about you”
“What did she say? Hope she didn’t reveal any secrets” Daniel showed a smile
“She looked sad, you know why?”
“Yeah. She’s the type of talent you saw on the track and your mind already click on what’s coming next, like, the next big thing. I told her that the events that happened on McLaren aren’t gonna affect our friendship”
“So, you’re good with the decision?”
“This is a sport that If they’re not happy with you, you’re out, you just have to remember the good days, enjoy the butterflies. I told her that she’s so powerfull, to surround to people who cares about her and then continue with their feet on the ground and let go the idea that you have to be the best or do the most to be worth something”
“You’re a good friend and we’re gonna miss you. What’s the next thing for you?”
“I don’t know. I guess we have to wait ‘till next season”
Tumblr media
“Hello Charlotte”
“Hello Netflix, what’s up?”
“Good, how’s the media treating you?” I moved my head as saying no
“Like always, I haven’t been near my phone the past week, so Lando has to knock everyday at 5 am to wake me up”
“That’s a hard job” I laugh
“It’s discipline, I force him to go to the gym with me. Just to start the day with energy”
“Ready for the last race? This has been a incredible season, better that Hamilton’s”
“I don’t like to compare but yeah, the expectations has been high, for everybody, I also have a lot of responsability with me, Alex too. The team has helped us in a way that we feel in another level, even If we’re not longer be together, I’m gratefull and I hope to race aginst them next year. I mean, there was always a 50/50 situation and a lot of rumours and criticism but I just focused on what I wanted rather that follow people bad advices”
“Who gave you a bad advice?
“Daniel, he just told me to tell them F.E.A.”
“What’s that?”
“Fuck them all”
“Inspiring” I laugh “And who gave you a good advice?”
I started thinking “Probably Carlos, he’s been helping me a lot, he just said don’t crash, pretty good advice”
Tumblr media
“Hey, just wanted to wish you good luck”
“You too” I kissed Lando on the cheek
“I don’t like it there” I laugh and hug him
“Carlos is looking in our direction and his mom just took a photo”
He laughs “Family dinners are going to be fun with me in there”
“Funny, go get ready, love you”
“Love you too, my world champ”
“Let’s see” I looked around and the Sainz and my dad we’re smiling “Weirdos”
My get closer to my dad and hug “You’re mom is so proud of you, I know you’re going to be world champion, zero doubts, mind focus and have fun. Even if this is your job, remember those days when everybody just said that a girl, my little baby, can’t do it and now you’re proving them wrong, you always do that. We’re so proud”
“I love you dad. Mom’s still here” I said with tear on my eyes
“She is” I gasp “Carlos, let’s go. See you after the race”
“Good luck, my favourite sister” I formed an “O”
“Ana and Blanca are gonna get so jealous, haha. See you on the podium or at the party”
“A little party sounds good” He laugh and I walked to my garage. All of the members looked happy, I took my balaclava and helmet and walked to the circuit to get in the car.
God, if this is my moment, please make it a good one.
Tumblr media
“Radio check”
“Copy, ugh, I’m going to miss your voice”
“I already have the file of your radio in your inbox”
“You’re definitely the best race engineer in the world”
“Doing my best for you. Six minutes to formation lap”
“Copy, I remember that you’re going to McLaren with me, ups”
“Haha, nothing like a chaotic driver ‘till you decide to retire”
“Welcome to the last race of the season, here in Abu Dhabi. The story is repeating itself. Max Verstappen is going to be fighting for this year title with Charlotte Robyn-Jone, today as a Williams race driver and tomorrow she’ll be officially part of McLaren. There’s a lot going on in both garages. Red Bull has set up everything to a back to back and Williams has done the same for the girl. She’ll be the greatest, first woman to get through all the categories and win, hope that she do the same today and mark history”
Everybody is ready in their positions after the formation lap.
Five seconds to breath
Four seconds to be gratefull
Three seconds to blink
Two seconds to feel a champion
One second to be one
Tumblr media
“And it all comes down to the last lap and no, Verstappen has braked and Charlotte has passed the Dutchman with ease and what a girl, she is three more corners away from being the first, mark history AND SHE HAS DONE IT, SHE DID IT. We have the first woman world champion in formula one. Remember her name, Charlotte Robyn-Jones is a world champion. Oh my God, I’m so happy”
“YEAAAAAAAAH, WE DID IT”
“YOU DID IT. What a race. We are so proud, Your mom is happy for you. This has been your year, champ” Everybody can hear the screaming coming from the Williams garage
“Thank you to all the members of Williams, I’m so happy. I hope we have a party tonight ‘cause everybody is invited. Call Kimi, Adam”
“I don’t have his phone number and...”
“But I do, look for my phone. Oh my God, freacking champion. YEAAAAH”
Charlotte parked in front of  the P1, Max on P2 and Lando on P3. Due her excitement, she took off her helmet and balaclava faster than ever and run to Lando
“You did it. I’m so proud”
“So proud to deserve a kiss”
“As many as my girl want” And that kissed marked one of the most shared photos of the new crowned champion.
Little thing nobody knows. Happiness never last long.

Your Ultimate Guide to Renting a Car in Abu Dhabi
People are always eyeing products and services that are cost-effective, convenient, and comfortable, especially when it comes to travel and daily commutes. The automobile sector isn’t left behind by this forever-shifting consumer preference. Even though public transport is considered to be the best cost-saving option, with the kind of always-on-the-go lifestyle people are living, it may not be the best one for obvious reasons of not being convenient.

Well I feel sad for Daniel, but I am very confused at the reaction to this news. People are going on about how they hate redbull, how this was so disrespectful and how Daniel has been treated worse than any other fired driver??? Are we forgetting De Vries, Albon, Gasly or Kyvyat?
RBR has never been known to be kind to the drivers that are not performing up to their standards (their behavior with Checo has been extremely uncharacteristic). They treat drivers like God if they are performing but are quick to tear them down if that is not the case. In many ways Daniel's exit wasn't that bad.
Moreover don't think that is something Daniel was unaware about when he got the chance to drive, he had been a part of Redbull family in his junior days, he knew Redbull are ruthless to core.
For me there is no surprise, instead I think that since Redbull is no longer at the front they are going back to their old operational ways. Also the in-fighting and tensions seem to have calmed down.
I think people just hate Red bull.
And let’s not forget, a lottttt of people weren’t even watching the sport when Gasly and Albon were fired, never mind Kvyat.
But I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, the red bull that fired those three is a very different team than the one that fired Daniel. Red bull that fired Daniel has kept Perez after nearly three seasons of a poor showing against his teammate (the reasons for keeping this season may be beyond Red bull but it’s also not entirely beyond Red bull). This Red bull has kept Yuki (I know he’s a Honda hire but AM has reached a deal with Honda and I don’t think Yuki will be going over there so clearly it’s not a dealbreaker). This Red bull brought back Daniel despite having a reputation for wanting fresh talent. So…yah it’s a very different proposition from the old Red bull.
I don’t think Daniel being gone has to do with Red bull being ruthless and results focused at all. He was doing well enough to finish out the season. I don’t think Liam is going to do any better in the car than Daniel would have. I think RB is planning for the future. They had 5 drivers for 4 seats and they were either going to lose Liam or dump Daniel and Liam has more years left in the sport and Daniel can’t be taking up a seat in the junior team, and they can’t give him the RB seat because Perez is Carlos Slim Gorilla Glued in there. I think Daniel was collateral damage. Frankly it’s not that ruthless, it’s just poor planning.
But I do think they handled his leaving poorly. They should have announced it in a timely fashion once the news had leaked (which lets face it they probably leaked themselves). Once the rumours were out an announcement should have followed in short order. Making him answer all those questions from the media with actual information was unfair and really not respectful of the position they put him in.
I do think people are overcooking the “proper send off” thing. Like, yeah okay he missed doing donuts in AD (which they don’t tend to let drivers do anyway), and maybe a few more weeks of pundits being kinder to him knowing he was leaving. But I think the messages and the sentiments from everyone in the paddock were heartfelt and appropriate, and everyone in his close circle probably knew sooner than Singapore anyway and got the chance to speak to him. I get that it would have been grander to get to do it in Abu Dhabi but I don’t think RB should have to risk losing Liam over that. It had to happen when it did, that’s how this works. But they should have clarified it publicly

*cupping my hands around the mouth to yell from the other side of the continent* How do you rank the GPs of this year on a scale of 'hot chili' 🌶️ to 'not so hot chili'?
I've decided to take some cheeky inspiration from Nando's for this ;)
Tumblr media
On to the reasonings!
Extra Hot
Singapore! The first GP I’ve watched live where my favourite driver won, and let me tell you, the feeling is amazing. We literally jumped for joy and hugged when Carlos crossed the finish line, and the DRS trick was so so spicy. Often imitated but never replicated etc etc, the only non-Red Bull victory of the season yet still a Red Bull junior, the narratives in my head appreciated it very much.
Spicy
Interlagos the iconic legend that you are, literally everything happened. The Pérez vs Fernando drag race was chef’s kiss, one of the best wheel to wheel fights I’ve seen, it was beautiful and so much fun, I hope we get more of it next year!
Monza also makes it here because of Carlos’ amazing pole that sent the tifosi’s spirits through the roof and his amazing defense against Max that reminded us that dreaming is for free and set the stage for his victory at the next race :’)
Australia was SO FUNNY TBH it was a MESS and Carlos sounded sooo hot pleading on the radio and his big sad eyes were <333
Mild
Bahrain got some flavour with Lance hitting Fernando and the engineers refusing to tell Nando who did it lmao.
I’m obligated to put Miami here based on the quali alone.
Tumblr media
Canada. Albon P7!
Britain. My boys didn’t do that well but yours did and I think it was around this time that I started to notice Oscar more! Plus it gave us the iconic pobrecito saga.
Hungary. Daniel was back but Ferrari still need to hire me so I can destroy them from the inside.
Netherlands. It rained, and the marshals knew how to party, and Carlos was very sexy from what I remember.
Japan gave us Sebzuka but ofc I overslept and missed half of the race, but from the highlights it was a bit messy and the Pérez penalty thing was so funny but I still feel cheated by the McLaren boys not kissing the trophy!
Austin. Late penalties DO have rights sometimes :^) Also Max’s PLEASE no talking when I’m breaking!!!!
Mexico. Ohhh that was heartbreaking for Sergio…. but the entertainment value.
Lemon and Herb
Saudi Arabia… I could not tell you what happened in this GP. I’ve watched the highlights and I still can’t remember, but it’s not Flavourless level so it’s here.
Azerbaijan… I legit fell asleep during the race but the exchange between Max and George after GR torpedoed Max’s car in the sprint was funny.
Kimi was right about Monaco, enough Monaco, we as a society are past the need for Monaco, no more Monaco! Carlos had spicy radios and we got Estie bestie on the podium baybeeee, but I cannot put it higher based on that alone.
Spain. Another one I can’t remember, but I don’t remember hating it either so it goes here.
Flavourless
Austria. What do track limits even DO??
Belgium. This race lasted one lap. Brundle gets paid to explain things and said he couldn’t be bothered to do that.
Qatar has no rights. Oscar in Qatar is separate and he was very funny and spicy but the GP itself stays here.
Las Vegas has no rights. Not even “send them my regards” can save it.
Abu Dhabi has no rights. Maranello delenda est.

Sometimes I think about how incredibly detached people get from the fact that the drivers are genuinely human because I remember the horrible treatment that Daniil, Romain and Nicky received over the course of their career.
Daniil literally got made into a meme that made everyone not take him seriously.
People were blaming Romain when he just had his crash, arguing that with his driving that was bound to happen and no one even acknowledge the horrible treatment he got.
Nicky got treated horribly ever since he came into the sport. Every weekend he was insulted, made into a joke etc. After Abu Dhabi I am not sure we will ever see him openly in the public again for the next two or three years. Hell, he might never race again and honestly I couldn't blame him.
This way to just completely detach the drivers is a result of social media and parasonical relationships and while with sexualisation it was always weird and borderline creepy, with guys like them it was genuinely dangerous.
I do not know if anyone knows about this but Timo Glock, who famously slowed down in 2007 because of his tyres and unintentionally affected Lewis championship, had to hire security guards because of the shit he was getting for that.
I can not even imagine how bad and dangerous it is/was for Nicky in the age of social media being such an active part in F1.
I think sometimes people forget that while yes you can critise the drivers and understand that teams are sport businesses, many of you forget to actually treat the drivers like the human beings they are.
That can sound very hypocritical coming from me and I will admit that, absolutely, but maybe we could all use this as a reminder that it might be a sport but there's people behind that sport.
And while cars, circuits etc. don't have feelings, the drivers do. What you say about them, they can hear, they read it.
So maybe some people should be considerate and understand that when they are typing a post about how a driver should just crash etc.
Maybe you should sometimes think about if you would say your main argument/point to a driver in person (because yeah Internet slang makes things maybe akward sometimes but the message under it is what matters) and when the answer is no, maybe you should think about why you feel the need to type it online.
